Communicating research within CIAT, with its partners and beyond is important – and we need to do more of it. That was the resounding message from this afternoon’s session on Access and Availability of Research Results, which saw CIAT’s Edith Hesse give a presentation on the availability of CIAT research outputs.

Then Enrica Porcari, Peter Ballanytyne and Simone Staiger stressed the importance of accessibility of information. The good news is that modern technology can make the process of communicating CIAT’s research very easy – and cost-effective.

There are a host of web tools that can help CIAT raise its profile and enable it top reach a global audience within seconds – this blog for example, the photo-sharing site flickr, websites for sharing presentations, videos and more. These new technologies are likely to form the cornerstone of the organization’s communications strategy over the next few years. Feel free to get in touch with the CIAT communications team to see what we can do to raise awareness of your work, both near and far. You can view the presentations here.
