Water wars? Changing climate spells trouble in East Africa

Rising temperatures and dwindling rainfall have caused the retreat of the northern shores of Lake Turkana from Ethiopia into Northern Kenya. As this stunning and troubling film shows, this has resulted in violent disputes between neighbouring tribes as they try ensure their access to water.

Clocking in at over 16 minutes, When the water ends is pretty long for an internet audience, but it’s well worth watching from start to finish.
